The Were-Tiger

Originally published in the 1900s, we have republished the complete version of this amazing tale of a person who had the ability to shape-shift himself into a tiger, as told by this British Malayan official during the time when he was posted in Pahang. The particular event occurred at a Malay village called Slim in the state of Pahang.

Sir Hugh Clifford relates the story of the Were-Tiger as reported by a peasant girl named Patimah and he tells it in his usual colourful and descriptive manner, which clearly shows his passion for his characters, subjects and surroundings.
